I stepped back and realized the other day that my baby brother and his girlfriend are the cutest couple I have come across in a LONG time.
They have been dating for about seven months, and during this period in time I have been so consumed with my own relationship and new marriage that I have failed to stop and appreciate what a special thing my brother has going on. Their first date (the first occasion where they were more than “friends”) was at our wedding. When my brother told me he wanted to bring a friend from school, I trusted that his choice would be a good one. And it was. He still tells me often how much he enjoyed our wedding.
From day one, they have cultivated a thoughtful friendship that has grown into this amazing relationship. At the tender age of 21, they seem to both have so much respect for, admiration for, and comfort in each other. Their relationship is not dramatic or clingy or unhealthy in any way (like some young lovers can be). Maybe it’s that uncomplicated nature that makes them such a genius pair!
As an outsider, I have been privileged to witness my brother transitioning into a young man, and a better person. For this, I will always be grateful to my brother’s girlfriend. She brought something out in him that no one – not my mom, nor dad, nor anyone- could.
Oh, there’s something about seeing two people in love that brings positivity to everyone around them.
As an older sister, I couldn’t hope or wish for more for my brother right now.Do you ever get inspired by amazing couples? I mean, aside from your own awe-inspiring relationship 🙂

That is really sweet and it is pretty great to see that in a young couple (sheesh was I ever like that?)

I am inspired all time time. Being a divorcee, I'll admit, it's HARD for me to believe in the forever and ever amen kind of love. But thankfully, friends have it in their lives, and that warms mine considerably (and keeps that little flicker of hope from being completely consumed).

Thanks everyone! They are sweet, aren't they? The cute couple is currently on spring break and away from each other for 6 days. I don't know how they'll possibly survive the separation?! 🙂
