Here is what our Monday evening looked like.

6:45p.m. – Got home. Changed out of work clothes. Talked about how the day went.

7:30p.m. – Prepared dinner. Tonight was fun, because L cooked! I watched and/or pretended I was busy “helping”, but really I was admiring. Watching a man cook is sex-ay! I requested L make kim chee fried rice, because we had leftover rice from dinner the night before, and kim chee from my MIL. I made a salad with Japanese cucumber and broiled some Miso salmon we had in the freezer. It was a feast!

8:00p.m. – Sat down to dinner. We laid around for awhile after we ate and talked. Then we watched part of The Bachelorette.

9:30p.m. – I got an unrelenting craving for donuts. I’ve had a crazy sweet tooth lately. L conceded to my whining, and took me out to get a dozen donuts. I’m not kidding.

That glazed really hit the spot. I’m saving the chocolate one for breakfast.

10:30p.m. – Watched The Big C. It was a stressful episode.

11:15p.m. – Sat in utter confusion wondering where the remote went.
11:20p.m. – Found the remote.
11:25p.m. – Washed up.
11:30p.m. – Sleepy time for L. I blogged for awhile, then went to bed.
Fascinating, no? Some nights we might feel daring, and decide to exercise. What does your typical evening look like?

I don't think we have a "typical evening" around here, with My Sailor in the Navy and me in theater. We do miss the "down time" of a few hours together after work though! I'll throw up a blog about it today. 🙂

wow- you guys work late! Do you start later in the morning? we are out of the house at 7:15am, so our evenings at home are much earlier 🙂

We are home around 5:15pm, E usually exercises while I make dinner (cooking is a good way for me to get out of working out!). Otherwise our evenings home are pretty similar.

You stay up late. What time do you get up in the mornings? I'm such an old lady – even before I was pregnant now it's about 1000x worse.

Your evenings sound like ours. These days Greg has been working out more and I've been doing some cleaning/organizing/trashing/donating of things. But overall – that's the stuff that makes me happy – cooking and eating dinner together. Watching a TV show or two … and sometimes, rarely, we read! ha.

Um. I go to bed by 9pm, no joke. Our evenings are almost always the same: make dinner, eat dinner, watch TV/lift weights (so as not to feel guilty about all the tv watching), eat some more crap, pass out. Repeat.

Oh, and now I want a doughnut.

Ha! This sounds so much like a night at our house (minus the gooey glazed goodies). So jealous of your donuts!

That is every night for us! Well, minus the cooking (only weekends and one or two days during the week), and Paul usually has to run out alone to get my cravings, since one of us has to stay home to watch the babe. 🙂 I remember one night I wanted Krispy Kreme, and the closest one was in like, Gardena or something. But we went and I ordered a baker's dozen donuts (Because it's dumb to only get two when you're going all that way!), taking a bite out of each one. 🙂 I knew he loved me then, because he'd take me to Gardena to get a special kind of doughnut.

Your night sounds like a good night- nothing extreme happening to give you stress (other than the remote, I frickin HATE THAT), and nothing too boring to make you wonder if this is how married life is supposed to be. 🙂

Hah, I love this! Our nights look similar, just earlier – we usually eat dinner around 5:30 (because we're apparently 80 years old) and are usually in bed by 10ish, because I'm a teacher and have to get up at ungodly hours to make it to work on time. 🙂

@J. Darling: Great! I look forward to reading it.

@LatteLove: Yes, work starts around 8:45ish depending on traffic. Also, we both tend to be night owls! LOL re: cooking to get out of working out.

@Colleen: Between 7:15 and 7:30 depending on how many times the snooze button is pressed. 🙂 We rarely read, too. It's a dream of mine that we both lay in bed reading. Hasn't happened much though!

@Michelle: 9?! Wow, I wish I could will myself to fall asleep that early. It sucks being a night owl sometimes.

@Sara: Yea, the donuts were a rare occurrence! But an awesome rare occurrence. 🙂

@Amber: I LOVE your story about Krispy Kreme and Gardena! Now I really want a glazed Krispy Kreme. L grew up within walking distance of one. SO jealous.

    @Lea: Yay!

@Amanda: I used to eat dinner around 5:30 when I lived at home with the family. I enjoyed eating earlier!

Our nights are a little different, but my bedtime is about the same. 🙂
Sometimes we eat as late as 9:30, I'm not kidding. Usually I pick him up around 7:30-8, eat dinner, and then drive him back to work. Wow, this post has really made me realize that we have a crazy "after" work life! Thanks for sharing your nights, and I too LOVE donuts.

I'm late to this by a few days, but I love this post! It's so interesting to see what other people's "typical days" or "typical evenings" are. I have been having a bit of a writer's block on my blog lately but I think you just gave me a great idea for a post! 🙂
