10 August 2012

It's August.

How did that happen? Somehow we are eight months into 2012, and I'm still wondering where 2011 went.

The last couple of weeks have been a blur.

I wrote a series of four or five draft posts over the past month and a half that tell the story of what I (we) have been up to. I just couldn't bring myself to talk about it while we were going through it.

I have gone back and forth about publishing. I don't know why, but the process of discussing all of this is really hard for me. I think I imagined it would be easier to share my words with you if the results had been...I don't know...positive? (harr harr) But alas, this isn't the stuff of fairy tales.

I'll start posting about the journey of our first IVF cycle next week. I hope you will follow along, despite the spoiler alert. Maybe it will help someone out there? Maybe it will help me heal? Who knows...

Have a wonderful weekend, friends.

  1. I am so sorry this is so difficult. I am rooting and praying for you.

  2. Will definitely still read whatever and whenever you decide to publish. I consider it a privilege to be able to!

Take care and stay strong for now. You have already gone through so much and have come so far!

  3. It's completely understandable that this is difficult for you. We're here for you when you're ready to tell the story. many hugs.

  4. Words can have so much power, they can free you and help others. But, it is not always easy, we are here if and when you are ready. Just know there are a few of us who can relate more that you know. Hugs, friend!

  5. sending you love. i will definitely follow along.

  6. Carly I'm so sorry you are still going through all of this and haven't had your happy ending yet. I think of you often and hope you are doing well. I'll be praying for a successful first IVF cycle!

  7. Carly,
I am your mom Ellen's cousin Elaine. I am praying that you will have success in your endeavors to have a baby. As you know, my mom couldn't have children so they adopted me when I was 3 years old. I feel fortunate that I had my mom in my life and that I had love and acceptance. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this difficult time. I love you.
